The event is scheduled to be held on Friday, November 6, 2026.

About the MeTA-Mirai (Meta-Mirai) Conference 2026

This event will serve as a catalyst for the future development of Nagano Prefecture's 'Shinshu IT Valley Initiative,' with the theme: 'In a world where AI becomes the OS, what kind of future will we envision and how will we nurture our communities?'

Front-runners from various fields—including businesses, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, creators, and journalists—will gather to create new forms of co-creation by combining technology and regional potential through sessions, exhibitions, workshops, and side events staged throughout the city.

'MeTA-Mirai': Envisioning the Future of AI from Shinshu

'MeTA-Mirai (Meta-Mirai)' is a conference that materializes the Shinshu IT Valley Initiative by combining technology and regional potential to co-create a new future.

The term 'MeTA' in the event name comes from a Nagano dialect word meaning 'more,' 'increasingly,' 'amazing,' or 'super.' In an era where AI becomes the OS of society, the conference promotes the concept of 'MeTA-learning, MeTA-connecting, MeTA-enriching,' aiming to bring together challengers from within and beyond the region to collectively envision and implement the future of Shinshu.

Additionally, the event will be held as a multi-venue, loop-style conference centered around the Zenkoji Temple area. It will use the entire historic and culturally vibrant city as a field to provide experiences that foster learning, exchange, and new co-creation.

Three Core Concepts: 'Learn,' 'Connect,' and 'Enrich'

'MeTA-Learn'

The conference will feature session programs that envision society and business in the AI era. Experts, entrepreneurs, and practitioners will share forward-looking perspectives on diverse themes leveraging Shinshu's strengths—such as manufacturing, education (EdTech), well-being, and regional DX.

'MeTA-Connect'

Through networking, workshops, and side events held throughout the city, the event will create opportunities for diverse participants to connect on equal footing. It aims to transform serendipitous encounters into new business ventures or projects and foster community building that extends beyond the event.

'MeTA-Enrich'

Dialogues and ideas generated during the event will be compiled into the 'MeTA-Mirai Storybook' and shared as policy recommendations for the future of the Shinshu IT Valley Initiative.
