Sotas Chemical Survey Obtains CMP Application Certification to Connect Chemical Information Across Companies

Sotas Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroki Yoshimoto; hereinafter 'Sotas') is pleased to announce that its cloud service 'Sotas Chemical Survey,' which supports chemical substance management operations, has obtained certification as a CMP application by the CMP Consortium. This is the second certification overall and the first for a startup company. It is an early certification following the start of the CMP application certification program.

In the transmission of information on chemical substances contained in products, information exchange occurs among many companies across the supply chain. With this certification, 'Sotas Chemical Survey' will support smooth collaboration of chemical substance information beyond company boundaries through integration with CMP.

Background

Information on chemical substances contained in products is exchanged among many companies throughout the supply chain. However, the operational burden of 'collecting, confirming, and communicating' information remains significant, including company-specific responses, file transfers, and re-surveys due to regulatory changes, making it difficult for individual companies to solve these challenges alone.

Even before participating in CMP, Sotas focused on these challenges in managing and communicating chemical substance information and has worked to solve them through the development and provision of 'Sotas Chemical Survey.' Based on feedback from customers in various industries and positions, including chemical manufacturers, trading companies, and processing manufacturers, we have expanded functions to 'collect, organize, and communicate' chemical substance information, such as regulatory compliance judgment based on regulatory information, SDS management and creation, chemSHERPA support, and document request and distribution.

To extend the knowledge cultivated in the field beyond individual companies' operational efficiency to information collaboration across the entire supply chain, Sotas began development and verification for CMP integration in July 2025. Leveraging insights gained through service development and provision, we have advanced the development of CMP integration functions and verification of operational flows assuming actual operations.

Through these efforts, 'Sotas Chemical Survey' has now obtained CMP application certification.

About CMP

CMP (Chemical and circular Management Platform) is an information distribution platform for digitally linking information on chemical substances contained in products and resource circulation across the entire supply chain.

By smoothly communicating chemical substance information that has been individually exchanged between companies through a common mechanism, it aims to reduce the operational burden associated with information exchange and achieve appropriate information management across the supply chain.

In CMP, efforts are underway to build a mechanism that enables information exchange between companies while leveraging existing business flows by linking business systems and applications used daily by companies with the CMP infrastructure.

About CMP Support in 'Sotas Chemical Survey'

With this certification, 'Sotas Chemical Survey' can be used as a CMP-compatible application that integrates with CMP to exchange product chemical substance information between companies in the supply chain.

Through 'Sotas Chemical Survey,' companies can send survey requests to business partners, receive responses, and manage and confirm product chemical substance information, while connecting necessary information to the next company via CMP.

Sotas has supported the series of operations of 'collecting, organizing, and communicating' chemical substance information. Through CMP integration, we support the realization of a mechanism where information is smoothly passed across the entire supply chain, leveraging each company's operational environment, without limiting information transmission to a single company.

Future Outlook

Currently, the CMP support scope of 'Sotas Chemical Survey' covers from chemicals to FA (Final Article). However, we plan to further expand the scope and aim to support information linkage from chemicals to molded products by spring 2027. This will support smooth chemical substance information collaboration across a wider supply chain.
